Project Development

This section is the entry point for all projects. In partnership with the customer, the PD Section develops the scope, schedule and budget for each project. Project Development is always seeking better, smarter, and more efficient means to create safe and modern learning environments throughout the District.

Production Controls Unit

The Production Controls Unit is the hub of Board Reports for Existing Facilities. The final review of scope, schedule, funding source, and budget is analyzed by the team. These projects are added to the Existing Facilities Strategic Execution Plan as amendments requiring Board of Education and Bond Oversight Committee approval. The team also packages projects of $25,000 or less originated by the LDFDs.

This unit conducts monthly briefings with all Board members to inform them of ongoing projects and provides account reconciliation to Board members and LDFDs.

Project Management Unit

The Project Management Unit is the gatekeeper of projects that are created in Project Development. Comprised of Project Managers, the Project Management Unit works directly with Local District Facilities Directors (LDFD.s), Board Members, Program Managers and various stakeholders during the development of a project. The staff regularly visit school sites to assist LDFD.s in identifying schools. needs, and provides a scope and estimate for individual projects. The Unit is committed to planning projects from a variety of funding sources by engaging Board Members, LDFD.s, Program Managers and other various stakeholders.
