Academic Master Planning Unit

Academic Master Planning is a process of looking forward with the vision for our schools and establishing a strategy for realizing these goals. This Unit is responsible for establishing a long range vision that addresses the educational goals and facilities needs for our schools. By minimizing a piecemeal approach to campus planning, the District will achieve a more comprehensive, long-term impact on our school campuses.

This unit conducts comprehensive evaluations of existing school campuses to include the identification of security issues, pedestrian circulation patterns, core facility resources, instructional methodologies, and facility infrastructure. In collaboration with each Local District and their stakeholders, they develop a prioritization strategy based on a school.s needs that are in line with the District.s goals. This methodology brings the master planning effort to a local level and allows available resources to be equitably distributed.

By comparing the current condition of a school to a model of what we want our schools to become, planning efforts will be focused on generating a facilities response that is consistent with the established goals for the school. The process will include a methodology for achieving the established goals which will include a resource allocation strategy, timelines, and phasing plan.
